Step 1 – Chimney Powerwashing
The first step to chimney waterproofing is cleaning the chimney section that is to be waterproofed. This is done with the use of high pressure water and various commercial chemicals/brick detergents. This work is performed in a craftsman like manner, taking all possible precaution to protect the surrounding surfaces and objects, including windows, carpentry, gutters, etc. In this process, it is important to note that some types of vegetation immediately in the vicinity may brown temporarily.

Step 2 – Chimney Waterpoofing
After proper drying time of the surface and curing time of any new mortar, we water proof the above chimney with a masonry sealer. Two common types of chimney waterproofing sealants include “chimney saver” and “PB 100”. These chimney waterproofing sealants do not produce a surface film or impair the natural breathing characteristics of their treated surfaces. The chimney waterproofing process is worked from the bottom up using a low pressure sprayer (10-25 psi). For maximum protection and desired coverage rates, a wet on wet application is completed; treated again within 3-5 minutes after initial application. Any overspray is removed from non-targeted surfaces with soap and water.
